Great Marsden St John’s is a one form entry Church of England Primary Academy, on the outskirts of Nelson. We are part of the Cidari family, which is a Church of England Multi Academy Trust.
I have been the proud headteacter at Great Marsden for a number of years now. This academy is a very special place to work and I am privilaged to have over seen the improvement journey. We have an Ofsted judgement of Good, with outstanding for behaviour and safety, and we are recognised as an outstanding Church of England Academy.
As a Church of England Academy we have strong links with our local church, St John’s, and its community. The area of Nelson that we serve is rich and diverse which we value and embrace through our rich curriculum offer and the daily life of school.
Nurturing our young people to become the very best they can be is our daily mission. Through our strong moral purpose, excellent teaching, good parental support and amazing children we fulfill this daily.
