Year2 -2024-2025
Spring term
We have another busy half term planned this year.
Our reflection area theme is all about our hopes and dreams. What are your hopes for 2025?
In Literacy our topic is “All about Birds”, watch this space for all our new learning.
Autumn term 2
Year 2 autumn 2024-2025
Throughout autumn term we have worked extremely hard.
We took part in Interfaith week and visited the local mosque and took part in the local Remembrance Day service at Nelson Library.
History – In our history topic we learnt about World War One and the importance of Remembrance. We visited the cenotaph to find out about soldiers from our local areas and how this event is still important today.
Science- In science we have learnt all about living things and their habitats. We explored our local area and was amazed at the wildlife we could find there and also the different habitats and animals of the world.
Literacy- We have loved our Literacy topics this half term. We have read lots and lots of traditional tales and talked about the different characters. We then decided to mix up our characters and created our very own tales about a wolf who was fed up of being with the three little pigs.
Autumn Term 1
We have had a very busy start to our Autumn term.
Our Reflection area theme this half term is love. We looked at our school value of love and walked around our school vine. We have created hand print promises to show how we are going to achieve our loving statements this year.
We have explored and discussed our British Values and through our PSHE lessons we have thought about our different friendships and healthy lifestyles.
Throughout this half term we will also be looking at animals and their habitats and the world around us- continents and oceans.
