Design and Technology is an exciting opportunity for pupils to explore and invent their own products for a purpose. Our design technology curriculum is ambitious and allows our pupils to be creative and explore a variety of different skills and techniques.
The areas of Design Technology we teach have been selected from the National Curriculum and these are supported by immersing the pupils in a wide range of different skills.
We take part in a Food Fortnight each year where our cookery and food preparation skills are developed to produce healthy food.
All our DT projects follow the following format which allows children to develop their skills
- Immersion
- Design
- Make
- Evaluate
Children are encouraged to be creative, to become thinkers but also be reflective in their work. Some of the different areas they will study are structures, mechanisms, electrical and textiles.
