Welcome to our Personal, Social, Health and Economic Education page.

At Great Marsden St. John’s, we recognise the importance of strengthening the knowledge and skills our children need to keep them healthy and safe. We aim to prepare them for life now and in the future. PSHE education helps pupils to thrive as individuals, as family members and as members of society.

Our aim is to help pupils to manage many of the opportunities, challenges and responsibilities they will face growing up by providing them with information and coping strategies.

The PSHE curriculum is divided into three core strands of Health and Wellbeing, Relationships and Living in the Wider World.

Please visit the PSHE Curriculum Statement to find out more.

This year we celebrated Children's Mental Health Week. The theme was growing together and we looked at how we grow mentally. We explored things that help us grow and times when we might need to call on others for help and support. We also thought about how we can help others grow by lending our support to them. We realised that in difficult times, such as during the Covid pandemic, we can still grow and flourish together.

On the Friday, we took part in The Place 2 Be's 'Dress to Express' day. Everyone came to school dressed in a way that showed their personality, things that they enjoy doing and things that are special to them.

Have a look at our examples below.
